It’s the Sixth Sunday of Easter, and our focus this week is the eternal peace Jesus gives, as we receive his Resurrection life within through the Advocate, the Holy Spirit filling us, empowering us, guiding us, and healing us, making all things new. Our Liturgy this Sunday is in the language of the Book of Common Prayer. We’re blessed to have Bob assisting, sharing the Children’s Time talk, and preaching; our Choir in-person to share an anthem and lead us in 8 congregational Hymns; Angela via video and Gloria in-person to share our Readings; and Dinah in-person to lead us in the Prayers of the People. Responding to the great needs of our world, these Prayers include a Prayer for the Children of Ukraine and a Prayer for the Elimination of Racism. After the Proclamation of the Word, we’re most blessed to share Holy Communion together, physically or spiritually, feeding by faith with thanksgiving on the One who laid down his life for us, so that we may have his life within us always. We receive Our Lord’s body broken and blood outpoured, that we may be his Body in the world, redeemed by his blood. When our Liturgy ends, the service begins, with a “Sending” forth into the world to share, in word and in deed, the Good News of the life and love of our Lord.
