Romans 8:12-17, John 3:1-17
Trinity Sunday

It’s Trinity Sunday, on which we remember and celebrate this central mystery of our Faith. It’s also the fifth Sunday of the month, on which our Service is in the beautiful language of the Book of Common Prayer and uses the BCP as the template for our worship. We’re blessed to have our Virtual Choir leading us in Trinity Sunday hymns. Our Offertory instrumental is also a Trinity Sunday Hymn, played on the organ of All Saints’ Church in Oystermouth, Swansea, Wales. We’re blessed to have Norman preaching, Kerry on tape sharing the First Reading, and Dinah on tape leading us in the Prayers of the People.  These prayers begin with a Trinity Sunday Litany. May 25th marked the 1 year anniversary of the murder of George Floyd. This past week the girlfriend of Ethan Bear from the Edmonton Oilers shared about the racist emails he’d been sent after the Oilers’ playoff exit. In response, our Prayers of the People continue with a Prayer for the Elimination of Racism. And, as our world continues to be infected with a different plague, COVID-19, our Prayers conclude with a Response to COVID-19 adapted from a Prayer written by the Moderator of the United Church of Canada.

Our Service is a Holy Eucharist, in which we have the opportunity to receive our Prince of peace and Lord of love in our hearts by faith with thanksgiving, as we partake of Communion, physically as well as spiritually, using Reserved Sacrament from the previous Sunday’s Service. This Reserved Sacrament is available for pick up just inside the main doors on Saturdays, from 2 to 2:45, and other times by appointment. The wafers are in individual paper cups, and placed in a sealed baggie, to ensure their safety.  When our Liturgy ends, the service begins: we go in peace to love and serve the Lord, rejoicing in the power of the Spirit, and by the power of the Spirit, bearing witness to Jesus and his way of justice, peace, and love to our broken world in all we say and do.

Today’s Service of Holy Eucharist will be livestreamed on our main Facebook page ( at 9:30 am. Following the service, the video will be posted on our YouTube Channel, and a link to the service will be added here.
