This Sunday, we celebrate the God of Angel Armies. He is mighty in strength. He is Lord over heaven and earth. And no power of darkness can overcome Him. Then we turn our eyes to Michael and all the angels—God’s heavenly servants and messengers, who worship Him, carry out His purposes, and stand against evil.
Michael’s name means “Who is like God?” The answer is clear: No one. That is the heart of this feast. The feast reminds us that God’s creation is larger than what we see. We worship alongside the heavenly host, joining their unending praise of the God who is holy, mighty, and faithful. And what does this mean for us? We do not face life in our own strength. The God of Angel Armies is with us. His presence surrounds us. His grace strengthens us. His victory gives us courage to stand firm in faith. We need not live in fear. We belong to the God whose strength never fails, whose light cannot be overcome, and whose victory is sure.
Come and worship the God of Angel Armies. Come and celebrate St. Michael and All Angels.
