Holy Cross Day - Love Lifted High
“And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up.” - John 3:14
The Cross stands at the very heart of our faith. It is where we see the depth of God’s love for humanity — Jesus giving Himself for us, bearing our sin and brokenness so that we might know forgiveness, reconciliation, and new life. The Cross was not a defeat. It was love poured out. It was mercy made visible. It was the price of our redemption.
Jesus was lifted up for us - not because we had earned it, but because God loved the world so deeply that He gave His only Son. And the story did not end at the Cross. The Spirit is still at work. Still renewing hearts. Still restoring lives. Still bringing hope into places of pain. Still calling us from death into life.
Holy Cross Day invites us to look again at the Cross and remember: we are loved beyond measure, forgiven by grace, and never abandoned by God. The Cross reminds us that Christ entered fully into our suffering. The resurrection reminds us that suffering does not have the final word. And the Spirit reminds us that God is still moving, still healing, still transforming. The Cross is where love was lifted high. And that love is still reaching for us today.
