This week, we celebrate the Reign of Christ, the last Sunday in the Church Year. This is traditionally our Sunday to highlight a group from the community that is spreading Our Lord’s reign of love in the world, and which we’re supporting financially through our Outreach Funds. This year, we’re delighted to welcome Yvette, the Vice-President of Marketing and Communications for United Way of Calgary and Area.
As the Service is a Holy Eucharist, we’re most blessed to share Holy Communion together, physically or spiritually, feeding by faith with thanksgiving on the One who laid down his life for us, so that we may have his life within us always. When our Liturgy ends, the service begins, with a “Sending” forth into the world to spread, in word and in deed, Our Lord’s reign of love, rejoicing in the power of the Holy Spirit. It promises to be a most precious time of fellowship with our King of love and one other!
