Trinity Sunday

It’s Trinity Sunday, and throughout the Service, we're celebrating and contemplating the central Mystery of our faith - this revelation of God to us! We’re blessed to have our Choir in-person to sing an Anthem and lead us in 8 Congregational Hymns, including to open our Service the great Trinity Sunday Hymn “Holy, Holy, Holy” (#1 in the 1938 Hymn Book, and restored as #1 in the blue Common Praise Hymn Book of 1998). We’re blessed to have Norman preaching; Dan and Debra online to share our First and Second Readings; and Murray in-person, leading us in the Prayers of the People. These consist of a special Trinity Sunday Litany and 2 Prayers from the worldwide Communion, in response to the request by the Archbishop pf Canterbury to pray this Sunday for the upcoming Lambeth Conference in July: a Prayer for the Lambeth Conference from Diocese of Zululand, Anglican Church of Southern Africa, and a Prayer for Peace from the Pacific Province in the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia, also in Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. Following this, we have the opportunity to say “Yes” to the life of God within us, flowing through our veins, as we receive Holy Communion, physically or spiritually, receiving Our Lord into our hearts as we feed on him by faith with thanksgiving. After this, our Liturgy ends, and the service begins, with a “Sending” to “go forth into the world, rejoicing in the power of the Spirit, and by the power of the Spirit, bearing witness to Jesus and his way of love in all we say and do.
