Eighth Sunday after Epiphany

It's Transfiguration Sunday, a hinge between the Season of Epiphany and the Season of Lent, which begins Maarch 2nd on Ash Wednesday. We remember how the glory of our Lord is revealed and shines forth. And we remember that what is revealed is that this glory is the glory of love; what shines is the light of love. Our Lord reigns as King of kings and Lord of lords, with a cross as his throne, and a crown of thorns his diadem. Our Liturgy throughout manifests these themes. We’re blessed to have Norman officiating and Deacon Betty assisting in-person, our Virtual Choir leading us in 5 Hymns and sharing with us an Offertory Anthem; Sofia on video sharing our First Reading; and John L. on audio leading us in the Prayers of the People. After this, we have the amazing privilege of receiving our Lord within, feeding on him in our hearts by faith with thanksgiving, as we share Communion physically or spiritually together. Last, our Liturgy ends, and the service begins, with a “Sending” forth to help spread the love of the Lord throughout the world, overcoming the darkness as we let our lights shine.
