Sixth Sunday after the Epiphany

This Sunday, our Service contains words from Psalm 1, Jeremiah 17, and Luke 6 about true blessedness. We’re blessed to have Norman with us to help us reflect on them. Our Offertory instrumental piece continues this theme, with “Be Not Afraid” on the organ. And we’re blessed to have our Virtual Choir leading us in 4 Hymns with a theme of joyous praise, including “Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee” and “Sing a New Song unto the Lord.” We’re also blessed to have videos of  Laura Anne and Gloria sharing the First and Second Readings from Holy Scripture, respectively; and Betty with us in-person to read the Gospel and assist. And we’re blessed to have Stacey lead us in the Prayers of the People, including a special Couple’s Prayer of Thanksgiving, as Monday is Valentine’s Day, and a Prayer in Response to COVID-19 from the Rev’d Dr. Juan Oliver, Custodian of the BCP in the Episcopal Church. After this, we have the awesome privilege of receiving our Lord’s light within, feeding on him in our hearts by faith with thanksgiving, as we share Communion physically or spiritually together. Last, our Liturgy ends, and the service begins, with a “Sending” forth to help spread the love of the Lord throughout the world, overcoming the darkness as we let our lights shine. It promises to be a special time of fellowship with the Lord and one another! Please spread the word!
