Multiple Lessons from Traditional Lessons & Carols Service
Fourth Sunday of Advent

It’s the Fourth Sunday of Advent, the Sunday of Love, and we’re having set before us the love story of our Emmanuel's coming to us and abiding with us, read and sung in a wonderfully special Service of Lessons and Carols. The form of the Service, including its words of introduction, blessings, and prayers, are from the traditional King’s College Service of 9 Lessons and Carols. Nine different members of our Parish family, in-person or online, are sharing the Lessons; our Virtual Choir is leading us in singing 9 Carols; and we have an anthem from the Choir of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in the Diocese of Eastern Newfoundland and Labrador, plus words of reflection and prayer by our Primate, from this year’s National Lessons and Carols’ Service. In non-COVID times, we share a Service of Lessons and Carols at our Historic Chapel, and so, like we did last year, we’re honouring this tradition by showing 15 pictures of the Chapel on our screens during the Service.

Today’s Service of Holy Eucharist will be livestreamed on our main Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/stpaulscalgary) at 9:30 am. Following the service, the video will be posted on our YouTube Channel, and a link to the service will be added here. To watch this service in full screen mode, please click on the “Watch on YouTube” button in the lower left-hand corner of the video.   Please download the Order of Service in the Sermon Notes above if you would like to follow along.
