Second Sunday of Lent

Today is the Second Sunday in Lent, with a focus on taking up the cross, and following Jesus in the way of outpouring love. Our Readings, Hymns, and Prayers all share this theme. Look for the addition of the Trisagion and Agnus Dei as part of our Lenten worship. It’s also a Triple C Service, the special Christ-centred Creative Celebration we have once a month. Look for a special translation of Holy Scripture for our Readings, and a special Call to Worship, Lenten Affirmation of Faith, Lenten Litany, Confession, and Eucharistic Prayer. We’re blessed to have Norman with us, to officiate. I’m sharing our Children’s Time and Sermon. Our Virtual Choir is leading us in our congregational Hymns, and sharing an anthem with us during our Offertory. Kerry is on video with our First Reading. And Dinah is leading us in the Prayers of the People, including a Prayer in Response to COVID-19 penned by Sister Christine Koellhoffer, IHM (Immaculate Heart of Mary), in the US. We’re blessed to share Spiritual Communion together, in which we feed by faith with thanksgiving on the One who pours out his life to us in love. Then, our Liturgy ends, and the service begins, and we have the blessing of going forth to walk along the road of love with Our Lord, sharing the Good News as we do in word and deed.

Today’s Service of Holy Eucharist will be livestreamed on our main Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/stpaulscalgary) at 9:30 am. Following the service, the video will be posted on our YouTube Channel, and a link to the service will be added here. Please download the Order of Service if you would like to follow along.
