21st Sunday after Pentecost

This Sunday we’re focussing on what Jesus said were the two greatest Commandments in the Law: to love God with every ounce of our being, and to love all in this global neighbourhood as we love ourselves. As it’s the fourth Sunday of the month, it’s a Triple C Service (a Christ-centred Creative Celebration). We have parts of our Liturgy from the United Church of Canada, Presbyterian Church in New Zealand, Roman Catholic Church in the US, Baptist Church in Australia, Church of England, and our own BAS; and our Readings from Holy Scripture are from the J. B. Phillips’ Translation. Norman is officiating and preaching. We have our Choir on tape leading us in our Opening and Closing Hymns, and a recorded version of “They Will Know We are Christians” on guitar as you’ve never heard it before! Speaking of guitar, we also have a Children’s Time song where we remember “God Loves You, God Loves Me.” Doreen is giving the first Reading, and Stacy is leading the Prayers of the People, which include a special Prayer in Response to COVID-19. We also have Paul playing live for us on the keyboard during Communion – because, for only the third time since Mar. 8, we have the great joy of sharing Communion not only be spiritually (which we’ve been sharing since Easter) but also physically!

The service will be streamed live to our Facebook page and the link to that video will be posted here shortly after the service.
