Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost

This week we have the opportunity to reflect on and answer from our heart of hearts the question Jesus asks: “Who do you say I am?” We’re blessed to have Paul live on the keyboard to accompany our Opening Hymn, and recorded, along with the Choir, to help us sing the Closing Hymn. In between, we have, with lots of actions, the Children’s Song “Who’s the King of the Jungle. We’re also blessed to have Doreen, in person, to give the First Reading. As it’s a Morning Prayer Service, we have the opportunity to spend extra time offering our petitions and thanksgivings together. We’re doing this, using prayers from the 2010 “Service of the Word” from the National Church, and a prayer in response to COVID-19 from the National Council of Churches in Australia. We’re also following our custom of having, on the fourth Sunday of the month, a Triple C Service (a "Christ-centred Creative Celebration), which is reflected in the parts of our Liturgy already mentioned, plus our Affirmation of Faith and the Translation we’re using for our passages from Holy Scripture.
