We have two main themes this Sunday: reconciliation and unity, and hope and perseverance, which will be reflected in our passages from Holy Scripture, Homily, and Hymns. We’re blessed to have Deacon Bob Mummery with us, to share the Gospel and Dismissal, and preach the Homily. We’re also blessed to have Cam Cline read the first passage from Holy Scripture. For our music, we have our Opening Hymn on guitar; a beautiful version of the beloved song “Hine Ma Tov” or “Behold How Good” [the first part of Psalm 133 in Hebrew] during our Offertory; and the leadership of our Choir on CD for our Closing Hymn. As part of the Prayers of the People, we’re uniting in a prayer in response to COVID-19 penned by Gail Ramshaw, Professor Emerita of Religion at La Salle University in Philadelphia; and a special prayer for protection for our schools as the return to in-person learning approaches. And, remembering that we are one body, for we all partake of the one bread, we’re ending the Service by receiving our Lord in our hearts with thanksgiving, as we share Spiritual Communion together.
