We are continuing our "Virtual Sunday School" series that we began when we were unable to have Sunday School due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Below are links to an Anglican Virtual Church Sunday school program that also has some wonderful links to other sites for further lessons and activity. The material is appropriate for grades 2 through 7 and should take about 20 to 25 minutes for parents to go through with their children.

A new link will be posted each week with the latest lesson at the top of the list.

Everyone in our Parish with Sunday School age children or grandchildren is invited to use the links as a family. If you have any questions, please ask Kerin or you can email Fergus at pastorfergus@gmail.com, and he'll forward your questions to them.

The purpose of Sunday School is to provide meaningful opportunities for all participants, students and volunteers, to learn and grow in their faith and develop their relationships with God and community.

Graded classes are offered for the preschool through high school students at the 10 AM service from September to June.  The Sunday School is totally dependent on volunteers and there are many different ways to share your time and talent.  These include teaching, assisting in a class, helping with special events, setting up, cleaning up and maintaining supplies just to name a few.  You may wish to share your musical, art, drama, craft, wood working etc. talents as well.  You can team up with some friends to teach a class, sign up for a block of time or alternate with someone.  The possibilities are numerous.  Occasionally there are intergenerational services and Sundays around Christmas and Easter when there is no Sunday School and the whole congregation has an opportunity to worship together.  This creates a whole new set of opportunities to participate. Registration form is available by clicking on the download below.  Please fill out and send in even if you are participating online.

The Summer Sunday School program offers a multi-aged class for grades 1-6.  Here volunteers have signed up on a weekly basis for as many weeks as their schedules allow.

There is a curriculum available for all the classes with lesson plans and resource material.  It is then a matter of reading the background information and lesson plan and deciding which options will work best for the class.  Preparation time is at least 1-2 hours per lesson.  Additional prep time may be required depending on the nature of the lesson or if specific supplies need to be obtained.  Help is available from in the lesson preparation.

As you can tell, there are many varied volunteer opportunities just for the Sunday School.  If you are interested in any of them, Kerin would be happy to hear from you.

There is also a link to a new Advent resource for children 5-9 years old that we added in December of 2020. It is called "Jesse Tree: An Advent Devotion".  For each day of Advent, there is a short story rendering from the Bible from Creation onwards. And just like the daily chocolate/surprise in an Advent Calendar, each story could be read in conjuction with our daily "treat" in anticipation and preparation for our baby Jesus' birthday.
